anyone remember the movie, “Mars Attacks!” with Jack Nicholson and many other notables?
the aliens from that flick were my inspiration for the shape of the main building.
with their gigantic brains, mean looking eyes and vibrantly green skin…
i thought it would be so odd and colorful to create a bizarre abode for *the new neighbors* based on the shape of their heads!
i wish you could have seen my kitchen and kid’s bathroom too…
the kitchen had a white dining table that snaked around the corners of the oddly shaped walls, their was room for probably 10 or more…
3-piece bathrooms were attached to every bedroom, with matching vibrant color schemes.
(the showers were shaped like upright “pods”
and the mirrors were oval with a swirling circular mist on them.)
one room i wish could have been pictured as well, was the room with a cryogenic suspended animation sleeping chamber, (looked kind of like a chrome tanning bed) that sims can apparently lie in for long periods of time without falling into the red and perishing.
for a little humor, i put an alarm clock on an end table next to it. ;)
anyway, i had a lot of fun with this, and i wish i could see everyone else’s entries in a lot more detail as well!

Your house looks so interesting! I wish we could see it in more detail too. Your furnishings are so colorful and especially against the dark background. I like your landscaping too — I totally failed at mine so kept to the minimalist theme. I wish we could put all of these houses in the same neighborhood. That would certainly give some variety!

    thank you!
i have to admit i love color and i try to incorporate color schemes that complement my theme in every design.
i confess that i love the background wall papers i found, ie. the moonscapes, planets and sky/mountains, they seem to give a real focus to each room…
in your design, i actually think that your minimalist landscape, especially the silvery trees, echo your stark, silver and glass alien habitation really well.
i am very struck by the structure of your walls,
did you make them by using some kind of bay window over and over again so that the walls are consistently angular? i am very curious about this, actually! also, i like the objects you have used to keep to your theme, like the tubular bunk bed and the second picture that shows a truly unique doorway/door into the bathroom! what is that?!
it looks so futuristic, star trek/wars!

I’m glad you like it! I got to playing with the octagonal building tool that came with Pets (I think) that I’d never tried. I liked the internal walls that resulted from creating three equally intersecting octagon shapes and voila! internal walls. The tilted windows and the bathroom door are from Olemantiker’s “Sims 2306 A.D.-The Space Center” set at insiminator.net. That and my favorite clear tile set pretty much created the look I wanted. It’s a great set for futuristic looks.

Oh and thanks very much for the Megaupload tip. That’s the only way I was able to enter this time!

This is absolutely amazing. I love the attention to detail and little nooks of great ideas and designs. Do you by any chance offer your lots for download? I really admire your work on thie site and would love to be able to study it in detail.

    Hello Cidney,

Thank you so much for your comments!
I admit I am quite a fanatic when it comes to detail, some might call it an obsession; especially when they find out I’ve logged 30+ hours or more on ONE lot! I’m also chronically addicted to custom content! ;p
As a result, my houses and community buildings are a bit too big, (too many megabytes), to be placed on most download sites.
However, I know someone who can help me create my own page that will house all my unique homes and shops.
I hope that I will be able to post information when this page is ready, on a few different sims2 journals or websites.
There will be no charge to download any of my lots, they will be free for all who are interested!
So I hope you will watch for my upcoming site…a work in progress.
It is comments like yours that have inspired this idea, so thanks again!
