Sims Gamer Architectural Challenge Week 2
The entries for week one of the Sims Gamer Architectural Challenge will be up momentarily for your voting pleasure. Remember, the points you receive in voting are cumulative across all 8 weeks. The person with the most points will receive a $50 Amazon gift certificate. Meanwhile, check out the new challenge for week 2.
Sim Leora inherited this old house from her granny, and thought it would be a great idea to capitalize on all the university students in her area by renting out her basement. Unfortunately, the old lady left it in pretty crappy shape. She was a bit of a pack rat. She never threw anything out, she just threw it down the stairs.
Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to clean up the basement and make some renovations so Sim Leora can overcharge two hapless students to live in these new swanky digs. Keep in mind that Sim Leora doesn’t trust her renters and therefore wants you to create a separate entrance and block off the basement suite from the rest of the house.
You are free to add and remove furniture as you see fit, redecorate the walls and floors, and add and change existing walls and structures so long as basement itself is not made any larger than it already is. The suite should include at least two bedrooms, an eating area, a bathroom, and a shared recreational space. Don’t forget that the renters are students, and will need their own desks and computers to study for their exams and write their term papers as well as other "educational" items. No cheats are allowed with the exception of the "diagonal" and "move_objects on" functions. The existing stairwell into the basement may be removed, moved, or modified as you see fit so long as the other requirements and limitations are followed.

Email me your packaged entry no later than Thursday at noon, Central Standard Time. The file must be saved with the following title format: yourname-arch-week-2. Entries not submitted with the proper file name will be automatically disqualified.

Just to clarify, we leave the upstairs untouched? in terms of furniture and decoration.

Is anyone else having an issue with the basement being flooded? Because, er…mine is.

Yeah, leave the upstairs untouched Val except if you need to change stuff for the door for the basement suite.
