The Sims On Nintendo Wii
The Sims are so popular they’re taking over every game medium!
The number one games software company, Electronic Arts, held their second quarter earning conference call today and as usual at these calls, more information is announced than just numbers. When speaking about their future Fiscal ’08 calendar releases, EA let out that a Sims title is in the works for the Nintendo Wii. The game is being built specifically for Wii to utilize its unique controls.
For those who are oblivious of the PC world, The Sims franchise created by game developer Will Wright (also creator of SimCity and the upcoming Spore), has taken over PC simulation. The title brings in a large number of female gamers allowing them to live their life vicariously through little animated 3D models known as Sims.
If you weren’t paying attention, it would have been easy to miss the use of The Sims and Wii in the same sentence. It’s unknown at this time if the Wii version of The Sims will be a remake of the original or an entirely new game for the franchise. Either way, both The Sims and Wii have the same goal of reaching out to those who don’t normally play games. Source
